Installation Procedure

  1. Apply clean engine oil to the roller and outside of the valve lifter.
  2. Install the valve lifter.
  3. Install the valve lifter guides.
  4. Install the valve lifter guide retainer.
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Install the valve lifter guide retainer bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  6. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side  or Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side .
