Installation Procedure

  1. Position the engine mount to the engine.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Install the engine mount to engine bolts (1). and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft). 
  3. Using the adjustable jack, lower the engine until the engine mount is sitting flush on the frame.
  4. Remove the adjustable jack and block of wood from the engine oil pan.
  5. Install the left side exhaust manifold heatshield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - Left Side (V6) or Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - Left Side (V8) .

  6. Partially lower the vehicle.
  7. Install the engine mount to frame bolts (1). Tighten: 65 N.m (48 lb ft)  Tighten the bolts starting with the middle bolt then either side bolt.
  8. Install the left wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC) .
  9. Raise the vehicle.
  10. NOTE: Step 10 - 13 are for vehicles equipped 4WD. If Vehicle is equipped with 2WD, proceed to step 14.

    Support and raise the differential carrier with a transmission jack.

  11. Install the left differential carrier mounting bolts and tighten to 100 N.m (75 lb ft)  .
  12. Install the right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers and tighten to 100 N.m (75 lb ft)  .
  13. Remove the transmission jack from the differential carrier.
  14. Install the front stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement .
  15. Install the clip for the transmission cooler lines.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Install the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
