Installation Procedure

    NOTE: The gasket surface should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
  1. Install a NEW CMP actuator magnet gasket (753) onto the CMP actuator magnet.
  2. Install the CMP actuator magnet (752) to the front cover.
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the CMP actuator magnet bolts (751) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
  5. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the CMP actuator magnet.
  6. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (LMM) or Water Pump Replacement (V8) .
