Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Sierra, 2010 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2010 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The position of the turbocharger vanes are controlled by the engine control module (ECM). The ECM utilizes a turbocharger vane control solenoid to control the position of the turbocharger vanes and a turbocharger vane position sensor to verify the position of the vanes. The ECM will vary the position of the vanes depending on engine load requirements. The TC vane position sensor provides the ECM with a signal voltage relative to the TC vane positions on the TC vane position sensor signal circuit.

The ECM provides the TC vane position sensor with a 5 V reference circuit and a ground on the low reference circuit.
