Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (Hydraulic Rack and Pinion) or Steering Gear Replacement (Recirculating Ball Without LMM) or Steering Gear Replacement (HP2) or Steering Gear Replacement (LMM) .
  2. Place the steering gear into a vise.

  4. Remove the pitman arm nut (1) and washer (2).

  6. Remove the pitman arm from the pitman arm shaft using puller J 6632-01  or puller J 29107-A  . See Special Tools .
