Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the bearing with axle lubricant. Use the proper fluid. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations (USA and Canada) .
    2. Fig 1: Installing Clutch Shaft Pilot Bearing - Front Drive Axle

  2. Install the clutch shaft pilot bearing using the J 33842  . See Special Tools .
  3. Install the clutch shaft to the differential carrier assembly.
  4. Install the inner axle shaft and housing assembly. Refer to Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft and Inner Shaft Housing Replacement (8.25 F4WD Axle)  or Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft and Inner Shaft Housing Replacement (8.25 S4WD and 9.25 Axles) .
