Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See ZONE 4  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Remove instrument panel trim pad. See INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM PAD . On models with Heads Up Display (HUD), carefully lift up HUD wire harness, located between HUD display and IPC. On all models, remove screws securing IPC to steering column bracket.
  3. Lift rear of IPC slightly to release locator tab, then lift IPC to access IPC electrical connector. Disconnect IPC electrical connector. Remove IPC. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ZONE 4  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
