Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See ZONE 4  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. On convertible models, remove folding top forward compartment lid extension panel. On all models, open console door. Pull up on rear of electronic traction control switch to release retaining clips. Disconnect electronic traction control switch electrical connector. Disconnect passenger-side air bag disable switch indicator electrical connector. Remove disable switch indicator.
  3. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry center console front and rear retaining nut covers out of center console. Remove nuts from rear of center console. Remove nuts from front of console and from front trim plate. Remove electrical accessory plug.
  4. Disconnect electrical connectors from fuel door release and rear window release (if equipped). Turn console over and release switch tabs. Remove center console. To install, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ZONE 4  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
