Removal & Installation (Passenger-side)

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. SeeZONE 5 andZONE 9 under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
Release tabs holding Body Control Module (BCM) to bracket, located below passenger-side air bag module. Remove BCM. Remove instrument panel trim pad. See INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM PAD . Remove upper and lower passenger-side air bag module mounting bolts. See Fig 1. Remove passenger-side air bag module from instrument panel.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Install lower bolts finger tight, then install upper bolts finger tight. Tighten passenger-side air bag module mounting bolts and knee bolster bracket nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. SeeZONE 5 andZONE 9 under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
