Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X7 harness connector at the BCM.
- Ignition ON, test for greater than 9 volts between the control circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Terminal 6
- Terminal 9
- If less than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the I/P fuse block
- Connect a 15A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 6 and ground. Verify the driver door latch performs the UNLOCK function.
- If the driver door latch does not perform as specified, test the control for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the I/P fuse block.
- Connect a 15A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 9 and ground. Verify the passenger door latches perform the UNLOCK function.
- If the passenger door latches do not perform as specified, test the control for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the I/P fuse block.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the control circuit terminal 7 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the I/P fuse block.
- Connect a 15A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 7 and B+. Verify the door latches perform the LOCK function.
- If the door latches do not perform as specified, test the control for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the I/P fuse block
- If all circuits test normal, replace the BCM.
