Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Batteries)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) .
  2. Remove the right side front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet) or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (GMC) .
  3. Open the starter solenoid cable positive battery post cover.
  4. Loosen the battery post clamp nut (1).
  5. Remove the mega-fuse holder nut (2) and detach the battery positive cable terminal (3)
  6. Remove the starter solenoid cable (4) from the battery.

  8. Remove the starter solenoid cable retainer bolt (1) frome the right frame rail.
  9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  11. Remove the starter solenoid nut (1) and the starter cable terminal (2), from the vehicle.
