Oil Pump Assemble

Important: Prior to assembling the oil pump, coat all wear or internal surfaces with clean engine oil.
- Install the driven gear into the pump housing.
Install the driven gear with the orientation mark facing the pump cover.
- Install the drive gear into the pump housing.
- Install the oil pump cover.
CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the pump cover bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the oil pump cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Install the regulator valve.
- Install a NEW regulator valve spring.
- Install the pressure relief valve plug.
Tighten
Tighten the pressure relief valve plug to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Inspect the oil pump for smoothness of operation by rotating the drive gear.
