Installation Procedure

Position the exhaust pipe with a NEW gasket to the turbocharger.
Loosely install the exhaust pipe to turbocharger bolts.
Position the exhaust pipe with a NEW gasket to the exhaust manifold. Align the tabs on the gasket to face downward.
Loosely install the exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolts.

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten the exhaust pipe bolts in the sequence shown to 53 N.m (39 lb ft).

Install the exhaust pipe heat shield bolts and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the left side exhaust heat shield (3) at the dash panel.
Install the heat shield nuts (2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
Install the turbocharger exhaust pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Exhaust Pipe Replacement (6.6L) .
