Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 FWD)  or Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) .
  3. For the 6.0L engine, remove the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LLY/LMM) , Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LU3) , Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY2, LY5, LH6, L76, L92 and LMG) or Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (HP2) .

  4. Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
  5. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
