Circuit/System Verification (Without 6.0L or 6.2L)

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
  3. Allow the engine to idle.
  4. Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
    • If the scan tool indicates P0016 has failed this ignition cycle, continue with the Circuit/System Testing.
  5. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions For Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records Data List.
