Circuit/System Testing

- Verify that DTC B009F 00, B009F 4A, or B009F 73 is not set.
- If the DTC is set, program the SDG module. If the DTC resets, replace the SDG module.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the HVCID sensor.
- Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute.
- Test for less than 5.0 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDG module.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1.0 volt between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDG module.
- Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute.
- Ignition ON, test for 1.0-3.0 volts AC between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground. There should be an AC voltage that varies between 1.0 and 3.0 volts for only 5 seconds immediately after the ignition is turned ON.
- If less than the specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SDG module.
- Verify the SDG module is programmed with the correct software calibration.
- If the correct software is not installed, program the SDG module.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the HVCID sensor.
NOTE:
The scan tool must be disconnected and the ignition switch OFF for 30 seconds for proper test results.

The SDG module will attempt to communicate with the HVCID sensor for 5 seconds immediately after the ignition is turned ON. After 5 seconds the signal circuit will be inactive.
