Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Inspection

- Visually inspect the adjuster actuator spring (1) for the following conditions:
- Excessive stretching, twisting, or binding
- Excessive bending or breakage at any point
- Excessive corrosion
- Missing
- Visually inspect the adjuster actuator lever (1) for the following conditions:
- Excessive bending or breakage
- Excessive wear at the adjuster star wheel engagement point
- Excessively bent or broken actuator spring attachment tab
- Missing
- Visually inspect the adjuster assembly (1) for the following conditions:
- Bent or broken
- Excessively worn, damaged, or missing actuator engagement teeth
- Seized adjuster screw threads
- If any of the listed conditions were evident, the affected part or parts require replacement.
