Disassembly Procedure

- Measure and record the overall length of the locking differential cam, side gear and clutch plate assembly from the front of the gear to the back of the thrust sleeve, including the locking differential clutch disc thrust washer.
- Remove the guide clips.
- Using a hydraulic press, the J 22912-01: puller (2) and the J 45232: replacer (1), remove the thrust sleeve.
- Remove the differential side gear shim (6).
- Remove the locking differential side gear thrust sleeve (5).
- Remove and disassemble the locking differential clutch disc set (7).
- Remove the locking differential clutch disc thrust washer (3).
- Remove the locking differential clutch disc guide (4).
- Remove the locking differential cam (2).
NOTE:
The locking differential clutch disc thrust washer is not serviced separately. It is serviced with the locking differential clutch disc set.
