Removal Procedure

- Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve cooler. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement .
- Remove the right exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Pipe Replacement - Right Side .
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor wiring harness extension electrical connector.
- Remove the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor wiring harness extension clip (3) from the wiring harness bracket.
- Remove the EGR valve cooler rear bracket bolts and bracket.
- Disconnect the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor wiring harness extension (1) from the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor.
- Prior to removal, clean the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor and surrounding area thoroughly with solvent, such as GM P/N 12377981 (Canadian P/N 10953463) or equivalent.
- Using compressed air, thoroughly blow dry the sensor and surrounding area.
- Remove the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor (2).
