Expansion (Orifice) Tube Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non-HP2)  or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (HP2) .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
1 Orifice Tube Fitting
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tip:  Loosen orifice tub fitting and separate the pressure line to access the orifice.

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

2 O-ring Seal
Tip:  Remove and discard O-ring. Refer to Air Conditioning O-Ring Seal Replacement .
3 Orifice Tube Assembly
Tip:  Use J 26549-E  to remove orifice tube. See Special Tools .
