Installation Procedure

- Install the park brake cable to the vehicle.
- Install the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement
.
Ensure the locking tabs on the cable conduit are fully engaged into the rear axle bracket.
- Install the park brake cable clip bolt (2).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Connect the park brake cable (1) to the rear axle housing cover clip.
- Install the park brake cable to the cable guides.
- Connect the right rear park brake cable (1) to the intermediate cable equalizer bar (2).
- Insert the park brake cable conduit (3) into the frame bracket.
Ensure the locking tabs on the cable conduit are fully engaged into the frame bracket.
- Enable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling .
- Adjust the park brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (Drum Brake) or Parking Brake Adjustment (Disc Brake) .
