Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  2. Remove the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LLT) .
  3. Disconnect the surge tank hose from the surge tank outlet pipe.
  4. Remove the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) from the cylinder head.

  5. Remove the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) from the thermostat housing.

  6. Remove the surge tank outlet pipe (1) from the thermostat housing.
