Installation Procedure

Position the surge tank outlet pipe (1) with a NEW O-ring seal to the thermostat housing.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) to the thermostat housing.
Tighten: Tighten the thermostat bolts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

Install the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) to the cylinder head.
Tighten: Tighten the thermostat bolts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Install the surge tank hose to the surge tank outlet pipe.
Install the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LLT) .
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
