Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the door latch assembly.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohms of resistance between the ground circuit terminal 8 (LHD) or 3 (RHD) and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DDM.
- Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Key Cylinder Lock/Unlock Switch parameter is Idle.
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 9 (LHD) or 4 (RHD) for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DDM.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 9 (LHD) or 4 (RHD) and ground. Verify the scan tool Key Cylinder Lock/Unlock Switch parameter is Unlock.
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the DDM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the door latch assembly.
