Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the vacuum brake booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
  2. Without disconnecting the front park brake cable, remove the park brake pedal assembly and position aside. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .
  3. Without disconnecting the steering column from the intermediate shaft, lower and support the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

  5. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor (1) electrical connector.

  7. Remove the vacuum brake booster pushrod nut (1).

  9. Disconnect the vacuum brake booster pushrod (1) from the brake pedal pivot.

  11. Remove the vacuum brake booster pushrod bushing (1).

  13. Remove the vacuum brake booster bracket nuts (1).

  15. Remove the brake pedal bracket nuts (1).

  17. Remove the upper steering column support bracket nuts (1).

  19. Remove the vacuum brake booster bracket (1).

  21. Remove the steering column support bracket (1).

  23. Remove the brake pedal assembly (1) from the vehicle.
