Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal assembly (1) to the vehicle.

  3. Install the steering column support bracket (1).

  5. Install the vacuum brake booster bracket (1).
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

  7. Install the upper steering column support bracket nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the brake pedal bracket nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the vacuum brake booster bracket nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  13. Install the vacuum brake booster pushrod bushing (1).

  15. Connect the vacuum brake booster pushrod (1) to the brake pedal pivot.

  17. Install the vacuum brake booster pushrod nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  19. Connect the brake pedal position sensor (1) electrical connector.
  20. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  21. Install the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .
  22. Install the vacuum brake booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .
  23. Calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
