Removal Procedure

Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Side Post) .
Remove the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .

Remove the fasteners securing the starter heat shield to the starter.
Remove the starter heat shield.

Remove the nut securing the starter heat shield bracket to the starter.
Remove the starter heat shield bracket.

Remove the nut securing the starter heat shield bracket to the engine block.
Remove the starter heat shield bracket.
