Installation Procedure

  1. Install the parking brake backing plate (1).
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

  2. Install the parking brake cable bracket nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

  3. Install the parking brake actuator (1). Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement .
  4. Connect the park brake cable to the actuator.
  5. Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  6. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement .
  7. Adjust the park brake. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
