PRNDM Display
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the selected gear position in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) as determined by the transmission control module (TCM). The IPC receives serial data messages from the TCM indicating the gear position. The PRNDM displays blank if:
- The TCM detects a malfunction in the transmission range switch circuit.
- The IPC detects a loss of serial data communications with the TCM.
The manual shift mode gear position is also displayed in the IPC. The PRNDM will be in the M position and tap up - tap down display will show as 1,2,3,4,5 or 6. Also, when the transmission sport mode is selected, the DIC displays the sport mode indicator.
