Stator Shaft Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 GMC Sierra, 2008 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2008 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT:
  • Replace the needle bearing if the bearing is damaged.
  • The only time the stator shaft is pressed from the oil pump cover assembly is to replace the stator shaft.
  • The new stator shaft comes with a pre-installed bushing.
  • The bearing must be removed to replace the stator shaft. If the stator shaft and the bearing both need replacing, replace the stator shaft first.

Replace the stator shaft if the specifications are not met.
