1-2-3-4-5-6 Clutch Piston Housing Assembly Installation: Installation

- Position the transmission case so that the front of the case is facing up.
- Remove 2 bolts (2) from J 44587 (1). See Special Tools .
- Remove J 44587 from the power take-off (PTO) access. See Special Tools .
- Apply J 36850 or equivalent lubricant to the thrust bearing assembly (1). See Special Tools .
- Align the thrust bearing (1) so that the blue stripe on the thrust bearing is facing towards the input carrier assembly.
- Install the thrust bearing (1) into the input carrier assembly.
- Install the 1-2-3-4, 4-5-6 clutch assembly (1).
- Rotate the clutch assembly until the assembly seats.
- Make sure one of the following is visible through the turbine speed sensor hole in the transmission case:
- The teeth of the PTO gear
- The teeth of the turbine tone wheel
NOTE:
Installing the thrust bearing incorrectly may cause permanent damage to the transmission.
