1-2-3-4-5-6 Clutch Piston Housing Assembly Installation: Installation

  1. Position the transmission case so that the front of the case is facing up.
  2. Remove 2 bolts (2) from J 44587  (1). See Special Tools .
  3. Remove J 44587  from the power take-off (PTO) access. See Special Tools .

  5. Apply J 36850  or equivalent lubricant to the thrust bearing assembly (1). See Special Tools .
  6. NOTE: Installing the thrust bearing incorrectly may cause permanent damage to the transmission.
  7. Align the thrust bearing (1) so that the blue stripe on the thrust bearing is facing towards the input carrier assembly.
  8. Install the thrust bearing (1) into the input carrier assembly.

  10. Install the 1-2-3-4, 4-5-6 clutch assembly (1).
  11. Rotate the clutch assembly until the assembly seats.
  12. Make sure one of the following is visible through the turbine speed sensor hole in the transmission case:
    • The teeth of the PTO gear
    • The teeth of the turbine tone wheel
