Rear Output Shaft Cleaning and Inspection

Callout	Component Name
Preliminary Procedure Inspect all components or sub-components and perform any repair procedure necessary to fix the damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, replace the component or sub-component as indicated. Clean all components in cleaning solvent and air dry.
1	Transfer Case Rear Output Shaft Splines Tip: Witness marks at the location of the yoke are normal.
2	Transfer Case Oil Pump and Rear Output Shaft Speed Reluctor Wheel Engagement Splines Tip: Witness marks at the location of the components are normal.
3	Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Drive Sprocket Bearing Surface Tip: Inspect for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
4	Transfer Case Two/Four Wheel Drive Synchronizer Hub Engagement Splines Tip: Witness marks at the location of the hub is normal.
5	Transfer Case High/Low Clutch Engagement Splines Tip: Witness marks at the location of the high/low clutch is normal.
6	Transfer Case Input Shaft Pilot Bearing Surface Tip: Inspect for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
7	Oil Galleries Tip: Compressed air may be necessary to clean the oil galleries.
