Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 GMC Sierra, 2008 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2008 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the power take-off (PTO) module.
- Ignition ON, test for greater than 11.0 volts between the B+ voltage circuit terminal 32 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the B+ voltage circuit for a high resistance.
- Ignition ON, test for greater than 11.0 volts between the B+ voltage circuit terminal 32 and the ground circuit terminal 1.
- If less than the specified value, test the ground circuit for a high resistance.
- Engine ON, test for less than 16 volts between the B+ voltage circuit terminal 32 and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the voltage circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, refer to Charging System Test .
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the PTO module.
