Reverse Idler Shaft Assembly

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Lubricate all the reverse idler gear parts with Synchromesh Transmission Fluid GM P/N 12345349 (Canadian P/N 10953465) or equivalent.

Assemble the reverse idler gear using the following procedure:
Install the retaining ring on the short side of the shaft.

The short side of the shaft is on the same end of the shaft as the chamfered gear.
Install the thin flat washer.
Install the wave washer.

Install the locating ball.

Install the thrust washer.

Install the bearing assembly.

Install the reverse Idler gear.

Install the locating ball.

Install the thrust washer.

Install the retaining ring.

Set the reverse idler gear assembly aside.
