Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 GMC Sierra and 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the engine mount to the engine.
- Working through the wheelhouse opening, install the engine mount to engine bolts (1).
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Using the adjustable jack, lower the engine until the engine mount is sitting flush on the frame.
- Remove the adjustable jack and block of wood from the engine oil pan.
- Partially lower the vehicle.
- Install the engine mount to frame bolts and tighten to 65 N.m (48 lb ft) starting with the middle bolt then either side bolt.
- Install the right wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE (CHEVROLET) or FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE (GMC) .
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the knock sensor. Refer to KNOCK SENSOR 2 REPLACEMENT .
- Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Replacement
- Install the right front differential carrier bracket. Tighten the front differential carrier mounting bracket bolts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) .
- Support and raise the differential carrier with a transmission jack.
- Install the right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers and tighten to 100 N.m (75 lb ft) .
- Remove the transmission jack from the differential carrier.
- Install the front stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to STABILIZER SHAFT INSULATOR REPLACEMENT (1500)
- Install the clip for the transmission cooler lines.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the upper intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
