Installation Procedure

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Connect the outer tie rod (3) to the inner tie rod (1). Do not tighten the jam nut (2).
- Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the outer tie rod retaining nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 63 N.m (47 lb ft).
Important: Be sure the power steering gear boot is not twisted after the toe adjustment.
- Check the wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment in SPECIFICATIONS .
