Removal (Rear)

  1. Raise the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  2. Remove the brake caliper from the brake caliper mounting bracket and support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire or equivalent. DO NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake hose from the caliper. See BRAKE CALIPERS  .
  3. Remove the disc brake pads from the brake caliper mounting bracket. Remove the disc brake pad retainers from the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  4. Remove the caliper slide pins from the brake caliper mounting bracket. Remove the caliper slide pin boots from the brake caliper mounting bracket. Inspect the disc brake hardware. See REAR DISC BRAKE MOUNTING & HARDWARE INSPECTION  in DISC BRAKE SYSTEM under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
