Circuit/System Testing

  1. Perform the Line Pressure Check . Verify the transmission line pressures are within the specified ranges.
  2. Ignition OFF, remove the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly. Refer to Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Replacement .
  3. Perform the Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Solenoid Performance Test .
    • If the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly does not pass the performance test, replace the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly.
  4. Listed in the chart below, are conditions for each component that could set DTC P1751. Carefully inspect each component for that condition. Repair or replace as necessary.

P1751 Lower control valve body (307) Clutch select valve 2 spring broken, debris, or damage
P1751 Control Valve Body Spacer (w/gasket) Plate Assembly (305) Orifice # 23 blocked, obstructed, or irregular shaped
P1751 Control Valve Body Spacer (w/gasket) Plate Assembly (305) Checkball # 4 ball seat blocked, obstructed, or irregular shaped (burr or flashing on hole/s)
P1751 Control Valve Upper Body Assembly (304) Checkball # 4 damaged or irregular shaped
P1751 Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly (314) Control signal fluid supply leak - valve body filter plate assembly cracked or damaged gasket seal
