DTC P0716 is a Type A DTC.
The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions.
The TCM turns OFF all solenoids.
The TCM inhibits Tap Up/Down functions.
The transmission defaults to second gear.
The TCM enables torque management.
The TCM inhibits manual shifting of forward gears.

DTC P0717 is a Type A DTC.
The high side driver is turned OFF.
The TCM turns OFF all solenoids.
The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions.
The TCM inhibits Tap Up/Down functions.
