Preliminary Procedures Remove the hood latch release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement . Remove the left headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Chevrolet) or Headlamp Replacement (GMC ) or Headlamp Replacement (HD Diesel) . Remove the hood latch. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .
1	Hood Latch Release Cable Tip: Attach mechanics wire to the existing cable to ease the installation of the new cable. Use a trim panel removal tool to help disengage the cable from the retaining points along the body.

Tip:
