Balancing Procedure with Service Compressor Replacement (Flushing Required)

  1. Flush the A/C system. Flushing will remove all the oil from the A/C system. Refer to Flushing (Non HP2)  or Flushing (HP2) .
  2. Remove the A/C compressor from the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LLY/LMM)  or Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LU3)  or Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY2, LY5, LH6, L76, L92 and LMG)  or Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (HP2) .

    The A/C system must be replenished with 150 ml (5.0 oz) of POE oil.

    NOTE: The refrigerant oil in the A/C system must be balanced during compressor replacement.
    The new service compressor is shipped with 74 ml (2.5 oz) of refrigerant oil. Do not drain the oil from the compressor.

  3. Before installing the compressor, deduct the amount of oil shipped with the compressor 74 ml (2.5 oz) from the total amount of the system oil 150 ml (5.0 oz).
  4. Add the calculated amount 76 ml (2.5 oz) of oil to the compressor and install it in the vehicle.
