Installation Procedure

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Important: All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
- Lubricate the NEW knock sensor seals (1) with clean engine oil.
- Install the knock sensor oil seals (1) into the engine valley cover (2).
- Install the engine valley cover and a NEW gasket onto the engine block.CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the engine valley cover bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the knock sensors.
Tighten
Tighten the sensors to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Connect the knock sensor electrical connectors.
- Push down on the rubber covers.
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
