Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If necessary, perform the following steps:
- Assemble the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble (LY7) or Cylinder Head Assemble (LLT) .
- Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Installation - Right Side .

Install a NEW cylinder head gasket.

Carefully install the cylinder head with the exhaust manifold to the engine. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side (LY7) or Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side (LLT) .
Connect the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
Install the battery negative cable to the cylinder head. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LY7) .

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the wiring harness conduit to the cylinder head.
Tighten: Tighten the wiring harness upper bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the wiring harness ground to the side of the cylinder head.
Tighten: Tighten the wiring harness ground bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .
Install the coolant inlet pipe. Refer to Engine Coolant Inlet Pipe Replacement .
Install the right bank secondary timing chain. Refer to Secondary Camshaft Drive Chain Replacement - Right Side .
