Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the steering linkage outer tie rod to the steering linkage inner tie rod. Do not tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod nut at this time.
- Connect the steering linkage outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.
- Install the new steering linkage outer tie rod nut.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).
- Tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (1).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Adjust the front toe. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment .
IMPORTANT:
Install the steering linkage outer tie rod the same number of complete turns needed to remove it.
