Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (With CE4)

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  2. Remove the front brake caliper cooling duct. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Cooling Duct Replacement (European) or Front Brake Caliper Cooling Duct Replacement (North America) .
  3. Disconnect the forward lamp harness electrical connectors from the windshield washer pump, headlamp washer pump and the windshield washer solvent level indicator.
  4. Disconnect the windshield washer pump hose at the pump spout.
  5. Disconnect the headlamp washer pump hose at the pump spout.
  6. Remove the windshield washer container cap.
1 Washer Container Screw (Qty: 3)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

2 Washer Container Nut

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

3 Windshield Washer Solvent Container

Procedure

  1. Lift the washer solvent container from the stud on the front compartment panel assembly and lower the washer container from the wheelhouse compartment.
  2. Drain the windshield washer solvent into a suitable clean container.
  3. Transfer the component parts as needed.
  4. Install new grommets prior to installing the windshield and headlamp washer pumps and the level indicator into the washer solvent container.
  5. Fill the windshield washer solvent after completion.
