Torque Converter Housing from Pump Assembly Disassemble

  1. Position the converter housing/oil pump cover module (2) on the work table so that the torque converter housing is facing up.
  2. Remove the oil seal assembly (1).

  3. Remove 10 bolts (1).

  4. Remove the seals (2) from the bolts (1).

  5. Remove the converter housing (1) from the oil pump cover module (3).
    6. IMPORTANT: Do not damage the torque converter housing to case channel plate when separating the torque converter housing from the oil pump cover module.
  6. Remove the torque converter housing to case channel plate gasket (2) from the torque converter housing to case channel plate (4).

  7. Remove 3 overlap seal rings (6) from the rear hub of the oil pump cover module.
  8. Remove 2 overlap seal rings (1, 2) from the stator shaft (3).
  9. Remove the thrust washer (5).

  10. Remove 5 bolts (4) retaining the oil pump assembly (1) to the oil pump cover assembly (3).
    11. IMPORTANT: Do not damage the torque converter housing to case channel plate when separating the oil pump cover assembly, torque converter housing to case channel plate, and oil pump assembly.
  11. Separate the oil pump cover assembly (3), the torque converter housing to case channel plate (2), and the oil pump assembly (1).
