Installation Procedure

- Install the rear bracket to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the rear bracket retaining nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the front bracket to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the front bracket retaining nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L) or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (6.6L) .
- Install the power brake booster inlet pipe (2) to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the fittings to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).
- Install the power steering return hoses and retaining clamps (3, 5) to the power steering pump.
- Reposition the power steering pump to the accessory bracket and install the bolts (1) to the rear of the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the rear bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pump front bracket bolts to the accessory bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the power steering pump front bracket retaining bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
