Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the rear bracket to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the rear bracket retaining nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
Install the front bracket to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the front bracket retaining nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L) or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (6.6L) .

Install the power brake booster inlet pipe (2) to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the fittings to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

Install the power steering return hoses and retaining clamps (3, 5) to the power steering pump.

Reposition the power steering pump to the accessory bracket and install the bolts (1) to the rear of the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the rear bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

Install the power steering pump front bracket bolts to the accessory bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the power steering pump front bracket retaining bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
