Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the secondary (small square) heat shield is properly installed to the oil level indicator tube as noted during removal.
  1. Install the oil level indicator and tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Installation .
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Install the knock sensor. Refer to Knock Sensor (KS) Replacement - Bank 2 in Engine Controls - 3.6L (LY7).
  4. Install the heat shield clip to the oil level indicator tube as noted during removal.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Install the front compartment sight shield as necessary. Refer to Sight Shields, Hood Adjuster, Hood Bumper, Hood Latch Replacement in Body Front End.
