Fascia, Bracket, Bar, Absorber Replacement - Rear Bumper

Callout Component Name
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications  .
Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement 

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
1 Screw, Rear Bumper Fascia
Tip:  The screw is located inside of the wheel opening.

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Plate Assembly, Rear Compartment Sill Trim
3 Nuts, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

4 Retainer, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 3)
Tip:  Cut the old retainer with diagonal cutters to remove, and install using a new retainer.
5 Fascia Assembly, Rear Bumper

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

Rear Bumper Impact Bar Assembly Replacement 

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
1 Screw, Rear Bumper Fascia
Tip:  The screw is located inside of the wheel opening.

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Plate Assembly, Rear Compartment Sill Trim
3 Nuts, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

4 Retainer, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 3)
Tip:  Cut the old retainer with diagonal cutters to remove, and install using a new retainer.
5 Fascia Assembly, Rear Bumper

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

6 Bolts, Rear Bumper Impact Bar (Qty: 8)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

7 Bar Assembly, Rear Bumper Impact
Rear Bumper Energy Absorber Assembly Replacement 

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
1 Screw, Rear Bumper Fascia
Tip:  The screw is located inside of the wheel opening.

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Plate Assembly, Rear Compartment Sill Trim
3 Nuts, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

4 Retainer, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 3)
Tip:  Cut the old retainer with diagonal cutters to remove, and install using a new retainer.
5 Fascia Assembly, Rear Bumper

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

6 Bolts, Rear Bumper Impact Bar (Qty: 8)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

7 Bar Assembly, Rear Bumper Impact
8 Bolt, Rear Bumper Energy Absorber (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

9 Nut, Rear Bumper Energy Absorber (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

10 Absorber Assembly, Rear Bumper Energy
Rear Bumper Fascia Bracket Replacement 

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
1 Screw, Rear Bumper Fascia
Tip:  The screw is located inside of the wheel opening.

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Plate Assembly, Rear Compartment Sill Trim
3 Nuts, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

4 Retainer, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 3)
Tip:  Cut the old retainer with diagonal cutters to remove, and install using a new retainer.
5 Fascia Assembly, Rear Bumper

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

11 Bolt, Rear Bumper Fascia Bracket (Qty: 10)

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

12 Bracket, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 2)
Rear Bumper Fascia Insert Replacement 
13 Retainer, Rear Bumper Fascia Insert (Qty: 2)
14 Insert, Rear Bumper Fascia
Rear Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement 

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Lift and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Panel Replacement - Rear in Body Rear End.
1 Screw, Rear Bumper Fascia

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Plate Assembly, Rear Compartment Sill Trim
3 Nuts, Rear Bumper Fascia (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)
