Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left .
  2. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Knee Bolster .
  3. Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC) bezel, Chevrolet only. Refer to Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Chevrolet)  or Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (GMC/Oldsmobile/Buick) .
  4. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) accessory trim plate, GMC or Oldsmobile only. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (GMC)  or Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Oldsmobile/Buick) .
  5. Fig 1: Removing/Installing Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)

  6. Remove the screws retaining the IPC to the I/P.
  7. Partially remove the IPC from the I/P in order to gain access to the electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the IPC.
  9. Remove the IPC from the I/P.
